June 10th – June 13th, 2021
In collaboration with Live Arts Boston, RAWI is excited to host RAWIFest, “a weekend celebrating Anglophone spoken word, poetry, and oral traditions in SWANA literature, and featuring new work from Arab spoken word artists, and performance-oriented writers at large.” Rather than following a “conference” format, and in the spirit of openness and accessibility, RAWIFest will be modeled as a festival which centers and uplifts intersections of literary and performance arts. The festival will be held virtually Thursday, June 10th through Sunday, June 13th. RAWIFest will welcome performers (writers and visual artists), panelists, and workshop leaders.
The application-review process is currently underway, and applicants will be notified. The RAWI board hopes to respond to applicants before the end of March. RAWIFest participants will receive a modest honorarium for their participation in readings, panels, and/or leading workshops, and as such, we are not able to offer admission to every applicant.
More information will be posted to this site & shared via our newsletter as the date nears.
